VOICES FROM THE PAST
An audio drama culled from the pages of Yesterday’s News
Featuring the Past Tense Players.
Long Island, New York
In the quiet community of Queens Village, a bored, spoiled housewife takes up with a traveling corset salesman, and in their passion and greed conspire the murder of her husband. Their ill rendered plot soon unravels and the lovers turn against each other to the police and on the witness stand. Both will pay a heavy price.
“Momsie’s Deadly Love” dramatizes the true crime of Ruth Brown Snyder and Henry Judd Gray, the love triangle that inspired the film noir classics “Double Indemnity” and “The Postman Always Rings Twice.”
The narration and dialogue in this drama have been culled nearly verbatim from the pages of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, trial coverage by the paper’s popular correspondent, the sassy Alice Cogan.
